Serve as the presiding officer of Eisenhower PTA and preside over executive board and membership meetings. Directs the affairs of the association with integrity and a positive attitude in cooperation with the other members of the board. Oversee all PTA functions. Coordinate work of officers and committees. Meet with principal to coordinate PTA activities. Oversee and support Communication and Outreach/Advocacy chairpersons. Appoint special committee members. This is an elected position.
Preside in the absence of the President. Act as aide to the president. Assume responsibility for the administrative details delegated by the president. Support the President and work with Board Members to encourage the success of their programs. Oversee and support Disaster Prep, Book Fair, and Memory Book chair persons. This is an elected position.
Organize and present programs which focus on interaction between parents, teachers, administrators, students and community members to inspire and support a sense of school community. Plan/schedule/create special and standing committees as needed for programs such as Family Nights and Parent/Child events. This is an elected position.

Promote membership in Eisenhower PTA at school events. Conduct ongoing enrollment of members throughout the year. Send National and State PTA portion of dues. Distribute membership cards and maintain membership lists. This is an elected position.
Set and achieve fundraising goals that support Eisenhower PTA programs. Serve as chairman of the Ways & Means committee. Train, assist, support and encourage subcommittees. This is an elected position.
Keep accurate records of the proceedings of the Eisenhower PTA. Record the minutes of all PTA regular and executive board meetings. Maintain a roll call record at executive board meetings and regular meetings. Maintain Eisenhower PTA Board/Committee list. Responsible for correspondence. Maintain Eisenhower PTA calendar. Keep bylaws in order. Act as custodian of records pertinent to the history of Eisenhower PTA and present a written report to the association as the official history to be adopted at the annual meeting. This is an elected position.
The Historian documents PTA events and creates a summarization at end of each school year. Collect hours volunteered by PTA board members and chairpersons. This is an elected position.
Advise on matters of parliamentary procedure and attend all Board and Regular Meetings. These meetings cannot proceed without the Parliamentarian being present. Make sure meetings are conducted as specified in the bylaws. Vote only when the vote is by ballot. This position is appointed by the President.
As authorized custodian of the funds of the association, receives and disburses all monies indicated in the budget and prescribed in the Eisenhower PTA bylaws or as authorized by action of the association. Keep accurate records of all moneys received and disbursed including bank statements, budgets, invoices and canceled checks in accordance with the records retention policy. Report monthly to the Eisenhower PTA Executive Board all expenditures and income. Give accounting of all expenditures and income at regular meetings. Sign on bank account as one of two required signatures on all checks. Pay all bills and deposit all moneys into the Eisenhower PTA checking account. File appropriate tax forms as needed. Serve as chairman of the Budget & Finance committee. Create and update the budget. This is an elected position.
Standing Committees (Board Positions)
Focus on enlisting the participation of parents, students, and community members in the educational process and establishing collaborative relationships focused on positive impacts. Share and distribute important information about PTA and topics of concern that inform and invite action. Empower others with information, support, and resources focused on students’ needs. This position reports to the President.
The Communications chair handles internal and external PTA communications such as weekly emails or newsletters. Maintains the PTA website, makes sure relevant information is posted in a timely manner, obsolete information is removed, and that the website is kept updated at all times. This position reports to the President.
The Book Fair Chair plans a school-wide book sale usually twice a year. The chair coordinates with Scholastic to preceive book cases and displays. The job includes promoting the book fair, ordering books, decorating, creating incentive programs to get more books in children’s hand, and coordinating volunteers. This position reports to the EVP.
Encourage participation in the annual creation and/or review of the school’s safety and emergency/disaster preparedness plans and share the plans with the membership and the community. Involve students in this process where appropriate. Take an inventory of classroom emergency kits. This position reports to the EVP.
Plan, create and publish the Eisenhower Elementary yearbook each year. Collect or take photos of all key events and coordinate themed events to feature in the yearbook. This position reports to the EVP.
Increase student and parent awareness of safe and healthy lifestyle choices through engaging educational activities and practical tools for implementation. Coordinate Red Ribbon Week and Purple Ribbon month activities. This position reports to the 1st VP – Programs.
Publicize and coordinate the Reflections competition. Includes logging contest entries, helping with judge selection, assisting participants (as needed), and planning and coordinating recognition activities. Communicate participant progress through the various levels of competition. This position reports to the 1st VP – Programs.
Plan and execute two food drives where donations are given to the Settlement House. This position reports to the 1st VP – Programs.
Coordinate enrichment programs to supplement school curriculum such as assemblies. This includes researching the needs of students, making contracts with vendors, and presenting ideas to the Executive Board and Association. This position reports to the 1st VP – Programs.
Organize, coordinate, and implement a Family Event (such as a magic show or a pancake breakfast) twice a year. This position reports to the 2nd VP – Programs.
Coordinate and execute all Staff Appreciation activities. Help coordinate Welcome Back Breakfast. Coordinate Staff Appreciation Week in May. This position reports to the 3rd VP – Membership.
Organize, coordinate, and implement the major fundraisers for the Eisenhower PTA. This position reports to the 4th VP – Ways and Means.
This is an important job that can be done from home. This person oversees all of our passive fundraisers, including “Boxtops for Education”. Work involves collecting labels from the school, counting them, filling out necessary paperwork and sending labels in. This position reports to the 4th VP – Ways and Means.
